About the role
The role is an experienced Shopify Web Developer within an internal agency, responsible for owning the technical health and evolution of Shopify stores, handling both front‑end and back‑end tasks, troubleshooting, and liaising with Shopify support.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and maintaining Shopify stores (Shopify Plus experience a plus)
- Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with Shopify's theme architecture, Admin API, and Storefront API
- Experience working with Shopify apps, metafields, and third‑party integrations
- Comfortable troubleshooting independently and knowing when/how to escalate to Shopify support
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external vendors
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Self‑starter mentality with ownership and minimal need for micromanagement
- Experience with version control (Git) and deployment workflows
- Familiarity with backend languages/frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Ruby, PHP) for custom app development
- Experience with Shopify Plus features (Scripts, Flow, Functions)
- Background in UX/UI or e‑commerce conversion optimization
- Experience with performance auditing tools (Lighthouse, GTmetrix, etc.)
