About the role

The Technical Expert – Lubricants & Tribology provides technical leadership for transmission, driveline, power unit and axle systems, managing lubricant libraries, developing tribology design rules, and partnering with engineering, CAE and suppliers to improve durability and reliability.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering (required).
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in transmission, axle or drive unit systems/components design, mechanical testing, development, or lubricant design, with at least 6 years in lubricant design/specification/validation.
  • Proven experience designing and verifying mechanical components with focus on wear mechanisms and lubricant design.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate options and lead teams balancing technical ideals with industrialization realities.
  • Extensive experience creating and managing DFMEA, PFMEA, SCCAF, control plans and engineering drawings.
  • Experience using CAE tools and methods for wear analysis.
  • In‑depth knowledge of supplier manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Strong leadership skills: quality‑focused, innovative, excellent communicator, organized, self‑starter.
  • Ability to lead and align cross‑functional specialists without direct authority.
  • Ability to institutionalize lessons learned through documentation and teach training sessions.
  • Ability to formulate opinions, communicate effectively at all levels and drive decisions.
  • Preferred: Master of Engineering in tribology, mechanical, controls or related field.
