About the role

The Staff Software Engineer, Web Product Enablement will define and drive the technical direction of Pinterest’s web development layer, focusing on data‑fetching architecture, developer experience, and scalable foundations that enable product engineers to ship high‑quality web experiences at scale.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of web software engineering experience building, designing and evolving client‑side data architecture in large‑scale web applications
  • Deep understanding of trade‑offs in caching, consistency, latency, reliability, and developer ergonomics in modern web clients
  • Expert‑level coding skills in JavaScript or TypeScript (optional Python) with ability to write production‑quality code
  • Knowledge of Node.js, server‑side rendering techniques and GraphQL frameworks such as Relay
  • Strong experience working across both GraphQL and REST and defining clear usage patterns
  • Proven ability to evaluate complex systems, define pragmatic architectural direction, and lead cross‑team execution on foundational platform investments
  • Experience establishing reusable patterns, technical standards, and documentation to improve consistency and maintainability
  • Strong technical leadership and mentorship skills with a track record of raising the engineering bar
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to align stakeholders and influence technical direction across organizational boundaries
  • Passion for web architecture and staying current with evolving client‑side data systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
