The Backend Platform Engineer (Staff/Principal) works on the Power & Energy Transition unit’s Marginal Unit Team, building and operating high‑throughput, AI‑enabled infrastructure for congestion analysis, forecasting and grid optimization in renewable energy markets, owning end‑to‑end systems and driving architectural strategy.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Significant experience with data‑rich applications and pipelines
• Experience learning and working in a highly complex domain (financial trading or power systems a plus)
• Proven success delivering highly reliable and scalable software systems
• Experience optimizing systems that perform expensive computations
• Experience building backend applications using Python, Go, or Rust
• Experience using Kafka, SQL and No‑SQL databases
• Familiarity with Kubernetes on GCP or AWS
