Staff Mobile Engineer - Retail

About the role

As a Staff Mobile Engineer on the Global Retail team, you will shape how customers discover, browse and purchase retail items across Wolt, DoorDash and Deliveroo mobile apps. The role focuses on iOS (with Android as a strong plus), owning retail journeys within large‑scale B2C applications, driving cross‑team consistency, quality and speed, and mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in iOS mobile development, including modern best practices, performance optimization, observability, modularity, SDK design, server‑driven UI, CI/CD and App Store processes
• Experience operating at Staff Engineer level or equivalent scope, having led cross‑team or cross‑org initiatives
• Track record building large‑scale native consumer (B2C) applications, ideally in environments with split app ownership across teams
• Pragmatic, impact‑oriented mindset with bias for action and ability to navigate ambiguity
• Strong communication and influencing skills to align stakeholders on technical decisions
• Experience mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning
• Practical experience using AI tools in engineering with good validation instincts
• Familiarity with Android development is a plus
