About the role

The Staff Engineer will join the AutoProgression (A‑Team) within the Technology department, leading cross‑squad technical initiatives such as architectural decisions, performance investigations and technology alignment. Partnering with engineering leadership, the role drives the technical direction of the platform, influences product roadmaps, and ensures the Stellar application delivers accurate, timely data to providers, directly impacting patient access to care.

Requirements

  • At least ten years of total experience with recent hands‑on production‑level coding (Python preferred; also Java, C++, Go)
  • Expertise in a cloud platform such as AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure
  • Expertise in relational databases, e.g., PostgreSQL
  • Experience with Django or a similar web framework
  • Minimum two years building data processing pipelines
  • Experience leading and coordinating cross‑functional architectural projects and rollouts
  • Experience writing highly available, low‑latency services and operating them in production
  • Strong focus on clean code and architecture; advocate engineering best practices
  • Ability to dive deep into issues, identify root causes, and stay calm under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to work across engineering teams on projects that elevate multiple systems and designs
