The Full Stack Senior Software Engineer will join the newly formed Mixed Portfolio Foundation team, responsible for owning foundational architecture and data models across affordable housing, student housing, and other property types. The role involves building scalable web solutions, driving technical direction, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality SaaS products.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience developing web‑based applications, preferably in a SaaS environment
  • Extensive experience designing complex data models that meet business and compliance requirements
  • Experience developing web applications in an agile SaaS environment
  • Proven track record driving architectural improvements for scalability, flexibility, or performance and advocating technical changes
  • Experience working across all levels of the development stack
  • Strong familiarity with Ruby on Rails, React, MySQL, AWS, and SOA
  • Strong familiarity with Agile processes (Scrum or Kanban)
  • Strong familiarity with Test‑Driven Development
  • Creativity and proactivity to solve complex problems without a roadmap
  • Passion for learning new technologies while leveraging existing ones when appropriate
  • Commitment to long‑term maintainability, refactoring, and code cleanliness
  • Ability to identify and resolve code‑smells through sensible refactoring
  • Ability to work effectively with remote team members
  • Pragmatic thinking to balance business outcomes with technical goals
