Sr. Data Engineer

About the role

The Senior Data Engineer will join a small Data Platform team to architect, build and maintain scalable, enterprise‑grade data systems that power Overhaul’s analytics and AI‑driven product suite. The role spans DataOps, MLOps and infrastructure, with ownership of streaming pipelines, ML pipelines and overall operational excellence, supporting both analytics functionality and an AI platform. The position is based in Austin with remote flexibility.

Requirements

• Strong product ownership mindset and data intuition for business decisions
• Proficient in Python programming and SQL
• Background in distributed data processing or software engineering of data services
• Experience with big‑data technologies such as Spark and handling web‑scale datasets
• Familiarity with end‑to‑end software development lifecycle, automation, testing, CI/CD and documentation
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on data quality
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, giving and receiving candid feedback
• Comfortable in a rapidly changing environment with ambiguous requirements
• Experience with cloud‑based data lake tools and designing/implementing data pipelines
• Hands‑on experience with Python and SparkSQL/Spark
