Sr. Data Architect

About the role

The Data Architect will design and implement a unified common data layer for WebMD’s Health vertical, creating scalable, secure data solutions that support analytics, reporting and AI across WebMD, Medscape, PulsePoint and affiliate brands.

WebMD is a leading health information brand that provides consumer, physician and professional health content through its public portals, mobile apps and publications, and operates the WebMD Health Network including Medscape, MedicineNet, RxList and other affiliates.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering or related fields
• Proven experience designing enterprise‑scale data platforms that integrate multiple products and affiliates
• Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines and modern data warehouse/lakehouse solutions such as Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift or BigQuery
• Hands‑on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and related services
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management and master data management
• Experience with compliance and privacy regulations (HIPAA; GDPR preferred)
• Experience in healthcare data ecosystems (clinical, claims, provider/consumer platforms)
• Hands‑on experience with marketing and media data platforms (Google, Adobe, SFMC)
• Hands‑on experience with real‑time/streaming data architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.)
• Understanding of data science and machine learning platform integration
• Strong ability to collaborate across teams and verticals to drive alignment on architecture strategy
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for engaging executives, business teams and engineers
• Preferred: experience working in organizations with multiple brands or affiliate structures, integrating disparate data systems
