About the role
The Software Engineer role is a full‑stack position reporting to the Senior Software Engineering Manager, responsible for designing, developing and enhancing Vydia’s core platform. The engineer will build scalable, high‑quality features in a custom Ruby application, collaborate with product, design and engineering teams, and support customers, partners and internal users.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred (not required).
- Professional experience developing and maintaining web‑based applications.
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend language/framework (Ruby on Rails, Python, Node.js, Go, Java) and ability to learn new stacks quickly.
- Familiarity with modern frontend technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Vue, HTML/CSS) for full‑stack development.
- Experience building and maintaining scalable SaaS or enterprise web applications.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, OOP principles, design patterns, and scalability.
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL), including schema design and performance tuning.
- Experience integrating third‑party APIs and RESTful services.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and concepts such as serverless, object storage, managed databases.
- Knowledge of microservices, serverless architectures, or distributed systems.
- Experience with Git, collaborative workflows, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to write automated tests and deliver secure, reliable code.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and DevOps best practices.
- Experience with application monitoring, logging, observability, and performance optimization.
- Participation in code reviews and contribution to engineering best practices.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting production issues and participating in on‑call support rotation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration across Engineering, Product, and Design.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, take ownership, and deliver high‑quality results.
- Fast, adaptable learner focused on user and customer experience.
