Software Engineer, Onboard Infrastructure

About the role

You will join a senior software engineering team that owns Stack's core robotics middleware (Clockwork), the vehicle operating system (StackOS), and the onboard Deploy Manager, building and optimizing foundational infrastructure that powers the safety‑critical self‑driving platform across vehicle, simulation, cloud and HIL environments.

Requirements

• Proficient in C++ with deep knowledge of multithreading, concurrency models, lock‑free data structures, and memory management.
• Understanding of software engineering lifecycle and algorithm design principles.
• Experience building high‑performance software for resource‑constrained, safety‑critical applications.
• Strong grasp of POSIX/Linux environments and concurrent programming.
• Passion for writing robust, intuitive, pragmatic production code.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Comfortable debugging embedded systems.
• Familiarity with common tooling such as Bazel and Boost.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with performance evaluation and optimization (highly desired).
• Domain experience in autonomous driving, robotics, or related industry (highly desired).
