About the role

The Software Engineer II is a mid‑level Windows and .NET developer responsible for building and maintaining Microsoft Teams bot applications with real‑time audio and video streaming capabilities. Working within the Engineering department, the role involves designing, implementing, and deploying low‑latency media features, operating containerized workloads in Kubernetes, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver reliable, observable solutions.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency with C#, .NET, and asynchronous or concurrent programming.
  • Professional experience developing software for Windows.
  • Hands‑on experience building or supporting real‑time audio streaming systems.
  • Hands‑on experience building or supporting real‑time video streaming systems.
  • Production experience deploying and operating containerized applications with Kubernetes.
  • Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes workloads, networking, configuration, resource usage, scaling, and application failures.
  • Understanding of real‑time media concepts such as codecs, frame and sample formats, buffering, latency, synchronization, and network transport.
  • Experience integrating with REST APIs, SDKs, and event‑driven systems.
  • Familiarity with multithreading, memory management, performance profiling, and debugging.
  • Experience with Git, automated testing, and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing Microsoft Teams apps, bots, calling solutions, or meeting integrations (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Graph, Azure Bot Service, Teams SDKs, or related Microsoft communications APIs (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with COM and COM interoperability from .NET (nice to have).
  • Experience with WebRTC, RTP/RTCP, SRTP, SIP, FFmpeg, GStreamer, or Media Foundation (nice to have).
  • Experience with Azure services, Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, and application permissions (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of Windows audio/video APIs, device capture, or virtual media devices (nice to have).
  • Experience with Helm, Kubernetes operators, ingress controllers, and observability platforms (nice to have).
  • Experience operating real‑time communications software in production (nice to have).
