About the role

The Shift Lead owns day-to-day performance of the manufacturing floor, managing and scheduling engineering technicians, creating the daily production plan, coaching staff, coordinating with mechanical/electrical engineering, ensuring quality, safety and reporting while staying hands-on on the shop floor.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands‑on hardware assembly or fabrication experience, including 1+ years leading or supervising a team
  • Proven track record of managing people in a fast‑paced, hands‑on manufacturing or hardware environment
  • Ability to work with unstructured problems and shifting priorities alongside engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills to translate engineering priorities into a clear daily plan and surface issues
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lb and stand for long periods
  • Experience with wire harness assembly, PCB assembly, or CAD software (SolidWorks or similar) – a plus
  • Command line or Linux experience – a plus
  • Action‑oriented, extremely organized, mechanically inclined, high attention to detail
  • Genuine interest in developing people, not just managing output
