About the role

The Warhead Design/Test Engineer in Costa Mesa, CA designs and transitions advanced warhead and munitions systems from prototype to production, creates high‑fidelity parts, manages end‑to‑end testing, and analyzes test data to validate performance.

Requirements

  • BS or higher degree in mechanical, aerospace, or another engineering discipline.
  • 2–5+ years of experience as an individual contributing engineer focused on mechanical design, analysis, and testing of naval ordnance/munitions systems.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or NX for creating complex mechanical designs.
  • Test experience including data acquisition, data analysis, and project coordination.
  • Ability to travel as required for testing (up to 25% travel).
  • Experience preparing engineering documentation (specifications, test procedures, technical reports, drawings, etc.).
  • Passion for defending the United States and its allies.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
  • Subject to pre‑employment and randomized substance screening.
  • Active U.S. security clearance (DoD Secret, Top‑Secret, or DOE L/Q) preferred.
  • Expert‑level experience creating complex mechanical designs specific to ordnance/munitions preferred.
  • Experience with munitions testing preferred.
  • Prior experience in explosive operations or handling munitions preferred.
  • Experience with the DoD Weapons Safety Boards preferred.
  • Experience designing and scaling production of mechanical components at volume preferred.
  • Experience developing or testing complex electrical or mechatronics systems preferred.
