About the role

The Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Feed Relevance will lead the development of GenAI‑powered recommendation systems that power Reddit’s feed ranking, setting technical direction for relevance and feed teams, mentoring senior engineers, and driving personalization for tens of millions of users.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of industry experience building systems for relevance‑driven products
  • Subject matter expert in relevance, recommendation, and ML systems, capable of solving complex problems few can
  • Deep understanding of building sustainable software systems at large‑scale engineering organizations
  • Experience influencing organizations on technical direction and best practices
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams such as design, product, business, and data to deliver great experiences
  • Strong focus on user experience, usability, scalability, reliability and quality; advocate for users with intuition for human‑machine interaction at scale
  • High empathy, excellent communication skills, and ability to find compromise across the engineering org
