The Sand Table Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring the 3D visualization platform meets government security and accreditation standards, managing secure development environments, modernizing dependencies, and overseeing VR hardware deployments, working autonomously within the Sand Table team that blends high‑performance C++ engineering with rapid feature expansion.

Requirements
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance (must be able to maintain).
- Experience with Linux environments and network security fundamentals.
- Professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in C++ and performance‑critical codebases.
- Proven ability to work with high autonomy, taking initiative to solve open‑ended problems and deliver results independently.
- Experience with build systems, software packaging, or managing complex third‑party library dependencies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing hardware/software integration issues in the field.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams including security officers, systems administrators, and core software developers.
- Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance (must be able to maintain).
- Direct experience deploying software to secure, air‑gapped, or classified government environments.
- Experience with VR/AR hardware development, setup, and deployment (e.g., Quest, Varjo, or similar headsets).
- Familiarity with TypeScript for scripting, tooling, or application development.
- Experience navigating government compliance, accreditation, or secure software authorization processes.
- Hands‑on experience with security scanning tools (e.g., Snyk, Checkmarx, SonarQube, Nessus) and the vulnerability management lifecycle.
