Job description

About the role

The Senior Product Owner, Data Insights translates strategic vision for actionable intelligence into detailed, ready‑to‑build engineering plans, oversees end‑to‑end delivery of the Insights capability, and partners with cross‑functional technical teams to ensure alignment, quality and timely execution. The role is hybrid for Denver‑area candidates (with quarterly travel) but open to exceptional remote talent.

About the company

Simplesense develops the Installation Resilience Platform that secures and monitors critical military‑installation infrastructure, protecting it from cyber and physical threats while delivering actionable data to operators. A non‑traditional defense contractor and prime on the Air Force’s IROC program, the company combines over a century of mission experience with decades of DevSecOps, cybersecurity and cloud expertise and is expanding from a prototype at Tyndall AFB to multiple Air Force, Space Force and Army sites.

Requirements

  • 5‑10 years experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager or similar in a data, SaaS or enterprise software environment
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams through complex, multi‑sprint Agile delivery cycles
  • Skilled at translating technical concepts such as data modeling, alerting logic and UI frameworks into clear business value and actionable stories
  • Experience working autonomously with minimal supervision to manage execution plans for core product capabilities
  • Willingness to travel quarterly for team syncs and client Program Management Reviews
  • U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a DoD NIPR network account and Common Access Card
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a DoD Secret clearance
  • Preferably located in the Denver, CO metro area
  • Prior experience in DoD, Air Force, Space Force or fast‑paced federal contractor/dual‑use startup environments
  • Deep knowledge of data visualization, real‑time alerting and operational intelligence platforms
  • Experience with building control systems and using data for building management or energy optimization
  • Professional Agile certification such as SAFe PO/PM or CSM/CSPO preferred
