About the role
The Senior Manager – Software Engineering and AI leads a growing team of software, principal, and prompt engineers developing the conversational AI behind Tom, Lumeris’ AI‑enabled primary‑care platform, combining hands‑on prompt development with technical and people leadership while reporting to the VP of Engineering.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
- 8+ years software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading a technical team
- Hands‑on experience building and deploying production‑grade AI systems with live prompt iteration
- Conversational AI experience (e.g., AI agents, assistants, chatbots) strongly preferred
- Healthcare industry or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience strongly preferred
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, 0‑to‑1 environments building new systems
- Advanced knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the full development lifecycle
- Strong object‑oriented programming fundamentals and experience with modern web/service architectures (REST APIs, MVC)
- Exceptional communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration
