Senior Java Software Engineer

About the role

The Senior Java Software Engineer will join an Agile development team building enterprise‑scale, cloud‑based applications and services. Working on‑site in Minneapolis (with home‑office flexibility), the engineer will design, develop, test, and deploy Java microservices using Spring Boot, Kafka, AWS, and SQL/NoSQL databases, contributing to architecture decisions and continuous‑learning culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience with Java or other JVM‑based languages.
• 3+ years developing applications with Spring Boot.
• 3+ years working with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
• 3+ years experience in database integrations and technical architecture concepts.
• Experience developing cloud‑native applications on AWS (preferred).
• Knowledge of open‑source technologies like Apache and Tomcat (preferred).
• Experience implementing and supporting Jenkins CI/CD pipelines (preferred).
• Familiarity with Linux and macOS development environments (preferred).
• Proven ability to influence technical design and architectural decisions (preferred).
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills (preferred).
• Passion for mentoring teammates and sharing technical knowledge (preferred).
