About the role

The Senior Full‑Stack Software Engineer will join the Discover team to expand Circle’s curated marketplace for digital experiences, building recommendation algorithms, rich listings, content feeds, and seamless purchasing flows that help members discover and join communities, courses, and memberships at scale.

Circle builds an all‑in‑one platform for online communities, enabling creators, coaches, educators, and businesses to host discussions, live streams, events, chat, courses, and payments under their own brand. The company is fully remote with around 200 employees across 30+ countries and hosts bi‑annual offsite retreats worldwide.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as a full‑stack engineer on complex web applications with significant scale (100k+ rpm, 100GB+ databases).
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, MySQL/PostgreSQL, ReactJS, TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment that values speed of iteration, individual autonomy, personal accountability, and effective collaboration.
  • Comfortable in fast‑paced, ambiguous settings and able to learn new technologies as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience working on a fully distributed remote team.
  • Strong alignment with Circle’s values.
  • Proficiency in English at CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5.
  • Experience with creator platforms, social content/video feeds, or marketplaces (bonus).
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation to optimize user experience, performance and conversion (bonus).
  • Exposure to search, recommendation and personalization at scale (bonus).
  • Production experience with Next.js and hybrid React/Next.js systems for high‑traffic applications (bonus).
