Senior Data Engineer

The Senior Data Engineer will design and build scalable, high‑performance data platforms and analytics solutions, create end‑to‑end data architectures, optimize pipelines, and mentor junior engineers within a remote, US‑based team.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering with a focus on cloud‑native solutions and data architecture
• Strong experience designing end‑to‑end data architecture (ingestion, modeling, storage, orchestration)
• Experience with Medallion Architecture or similar patterns
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud data technologies (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse)
• Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and equivalent data services
• Hands‑on experience with data warehousing and data lake solutions (Azure Data Lake, Delta Lake, BigQuery, Amazon Redshift)
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and/or Spark
• Experience with Python data libraries such as Pandas, Boto3 or similar
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server) and/or NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Elasticsearch, GBQ)
• Experience with DevOps/DataOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience implementing data validation, lineage, documentation, and monitoring at scale
• Ability to optimize data pipelines and storage for performance, cost, and reliability
• English proficiency minimum B2
• Ability to evaluate technical trade‑offs and make clear, well‑supported decisions
• Ability to communicate complex engineering decisions to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Experience mentoring mid‑level and junior engineers and promoting engineering standards
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to break down complex and ambiguous challenges into actionable solutions
• Ownership mindset and ability to anticipate issues and contribute to long‑term evolution of data platforms
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
