About the role
The attorney will advise internal clients on compliance with the Motor Vehicle Safety Act, assess safety‑recall needs, draft and review regulatory submissions to NHTSA, and collaborate with the Automotive Safety Office and product development teams in a hybrid setting.

Requirements
- Background working on regulatory issues with an emphasis on the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
- Strong understanding of potential legal issues related to FMVSS compliance.
- 8+ years of dedicated experience as a lawyer, preferably with matters involving the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration or automotive experience.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- Licensed attorney in a U.S. state.
- Ability to collaborate with larger teams in meetings on a variety of subjects.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to interpret complex business issues and translate them into legal language.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with attorneys and internal business partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Word, for advanced document creation and editing.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on significant projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or consumer products industries.
