Senior Backend Engineer- Users Infrastructure

Senior Backend Engineer on the Users Infrastructure team, responsible for architecting the core security and identity layer that powers all Weave products, leading the migration to a modern IAM platform, and establishing the India regional hub, reporting to the Manager of Engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience building distributed systems in Go
• Deep understanding of authentication and authorization protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML and JWT
• Proven ability to design complex data migrations, distributed architectures and gRPC‑based microservices
• Exceptional written communication skills and ability to produce Technical Design Documents for cross‑regional stakeholders
• Prior experience as an early member of a distributed team building culture across time zones (preferred)
• Security‑first mindset with experience in Zero‑Trust models and Zanzibar‑style authorization or SpiceDB (preferred)
• Reliability obsession: ship alerts, dashboards, runbooks and adopt a “stop‑and‑fix” mentality (preferred)
