About the role
The Senior Application Security Engineer II will join Relay’s Application Security team to own a slice of the platform’s security testing lifecycle, performing threat modeling, offensive testing, bug‑bounty triage, fixing vulnerabilities directly in code, extending security tooling, and driving AI‑enhanced security practices across the stack.

Requirements
- 5–6 years of professional security experience in application security, penetration testing, or product security roles
- Experience shipping production‑level code and ability to read and modify unfamiliar codebases
- Deep understanding of OWASP Top 10 and real‑world exploitation and mitigation techniques
- Proficient use of AI tooling in daily work and have built solutions with AI
- Strong communicator and collaborator who partners effectively with developers
- Ownership mindset with responsibility for problems and stakeholder communication
- Comfortable mentoring team members and others on security best practices
