About the role

The Salesforce Data Engineer owns enterprise‑scale Salesforce data migrations, building ETL/ELT pipelines, managing data cleansing, validation and load cycles, and collaborating with architects, delivery pods and clients to ensure accurate, repeatable migrations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands‑on Salesforce data migration experience on enterprise‑scale implementations
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator; Data Architect or Application Architect certification a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce data modeling – standard/custom objects, relationships, and impact on migration
  • Practical ETL/ELT experience building and running data load pipelines, source‑to‑target mapping, cleansing, deduplication, and validation at scale
  • Experience with Salesforce data load tooling (Data Loader, Bulk API, Bulk API 2.0) and troubleshooting large‑volume load issues
  • Understanding of Large Data Volume (LDV) considerations – indexing, selective queries, batching strategy, and governor limits
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data transformation logic
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms or lakehouse environments (Databricks preferred) and moving data between Salesforce and external systems
  • Familiarity with integration patterns (REST/Bulk APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture) as they relate to migration and data sync
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort owning validation and sign‑off on data accuracy before and after cutover
  • Clear communicator able to explain data quality issues and migration status to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Ability to support one or more concurrent migration workstreams across engagements
  • Experience with ETL/data pipeline tooling (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica, Talend, dbt, or Fivetran)
  • Familiarity with Databricks (Delta Lake, notebooks, Spark) or other cloud data warehouse/lakehouse platforms
  • Experience with data governance or MDM concepts (stewardship, survivorship rules, reference data)
  • Salesforce Certified Data Architect or Data Cloud Consultant
  • Experience with Shield Platform Encryption or regulatory/compliance‑driven migrations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)
  • Scripting experience (Python, Apex) for custom transformation or validation logic
