About the role

The Quality Engineering Specialist embeds in manufacturing to monitor, inspect and improve product quality, managing the Materials Review Board process, driving containment, root‑cause analysis, inspection planning and continuous improvement across hardware development.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years manufacturing and/or quality/engineering experience
  • Experience supporting hardware development and quality management in manufacturing
  • Proficiency with CAD software and inspection data management software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with calibrated equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMM, Faro arm, OMM
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wire diagrams, work instructions and CAD
  • Analyze inspection results and provide feedback to production and engineering teams
  • Experience using investigative equipment such as x‑ray inspection, digital characterization, material certificates
  • Experience in a facility with AS9100, ISO9001, IATF 16949 or similar QMS
  • Experience with validation and testing of assemblies and components
  • Experience communicating with suppliers and cross‑functional teams
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance
  • Technical or Associates degree in quality/mechanical/aerospace engineering (preferred)
  • Direct experience conducting First Article Inspection and Report (preferred)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, or equivalent; IPC‑A‑610 or IPC‑A‑620 certification (preferred)
  • Experience in low‑rate production manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of GD&T (preferred)
  • Experience inspecting electrical/electronic components such as power supplies, PCBs, wire‑harnesses (preferred)
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and related systems (Jira, MES, ERP, Teamcenter, CAD) (preferred)
  • Experience auditing processes and procedures in manufacturing (preferred)
  • Detail‑oriented self‑starter with minimal oversight and strong cross‑functional communication (preferred)
