About the role
The Product Development Engineer – Wiring Low Voltage joins Ford’s EVDD team to own the full lifecycle of low‑voltage wiring harnesses for new electric vehicle architectures, delivering design, validation, release, and post‑launch support while driving cost, weight, and quality improvements across the vehicle development cycle.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics preferred)
- 2+ years experience with 3D CAD tools (TeamCenter, Vismockup)
- 2+ years experience reading system schematics, 2D wire harness prints and illustrations
- 2+ years experience presenting to stakeholders at plant and corporate levels
- 2+ years experience with materials (plastics, metals) used in harness design
- 2+ years experience managing supplier relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (intermediate Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- 1+ year experience with time and project management, including Jira dashboards and automation
- Ability to travel up to 10% to GTBC Ford México
- Willingness to work onsite in Dearborn, MI 4 days per week
- Familiarity with Ford’s Global Product Development System (GPDS) (preferred)
- Experience with foundation documentation (preferred)
- Root cause analysis experience (preferred)
- Cost estimation experience (preferred)
- Understanding of feature partitioning and wire harness complexity (preferred)
- Solid understanding of automotive electrical systems (preferred)
- Automotive plant launch experience (preferred)
- Spanish language proficiency (preferred)
- Familiarity with Ford FCG (preferred)
- Knowledge of V18 quality protocols and warranty processes (preferred)
- Basic understanding of vehicle diagnostics (preferred)
- Master’s degree (preferred)
