The Principal Software Engineer is a hands‑on technical leader who shapes and delivers secure, scalable systems, drives architectural direction, mentors engineers, sets quality standards, and collaborates across Engineering, Product and business to influence strategy without formal authority.

By aggregating and de‑identifying vast imaging datasets, it serves over 5,000 customers with ~70% market share, enabling secure, scalable access to real‑world imaging data.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience as an engineer across multiple tech stacks, with deep experience building and scaling distributed systems.
- Proven ability to operate as a technical leader, setting direction, influencing others, and delivering results without formal authority.
- Strong foundation in software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, observability, automated testing, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with cloud‑native systems (preferably AWS), including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid knowledge of relational and non‑relational databases.
- Demonstrated success in a highly regulated environment, preferably healthcare, with understanding of compliance and data protection such as HIPAA.
- Effective communicator and cross‑functional collaborator, comfortable representing engineering in executive conversations and product strategy.
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and cultivating a high‑trust, high‑autonomy team environment.
