About the role
The Principal Industrial Systems Architect leads a global team of over 40 architects, shaping the vision, roadmap and execution of industrial platforms across Ford, ensuring alignment with technology strategy, standards and business needs while collaborating with infrastructure, development, operations and product teams.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- 15+ years of progressive IT or IT‑focused business responsibilities
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial systems
- Working knowledge of cloud computing, especially Google Cloud Platform
- Working knowledge of edge systems and on‑premises computing in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in business and solutions architecture, including tool and platform selection
- Strong outside‑in perspective on processes and technologies across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality domains
- Knowledge of strategic technology platforms such as Dassault Systems 3DExperience, Siemens TeamCenter, SAP/S4 MRP, Jira/JSM and data‑centric architecture
- Knowledge of IT/OT integration and edge‑to‑cloud infrastructure optimization
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (preferred)
- Extensive demonstrated competency in Enterprise Architecture (preferred)
- Experience in industrial system areas like manufacturing, supply chain, product development, engineering, transportation and logistics (preferred)
- Understanding of applying Enterprise Architecture processes, tools and viewpoints in a large, complex organization (preferred)
- Understanding of the special circumstances of the automotive industry (preferred)
- Working knowledge of AI, including traditional and generative AI, and its real‑world applications (preferred)
- Knowledge of cloud‑native concepts in software architecture and delivery (preferred)
- Working understanding of cybersecurity principles (preferred)
- Skilled at influencing leaders and workers across the company at many levels (preferred)
- Ability to think and act strategically without constraints (preferred)
- Ability to develop a team, grow performance, recruit and retain talent (preferred)
- Strong ability to lead by influence and push back to ensure architectural alignment (preferred)
