About the role
The Civil Engineering Practice Lead will spearhead Langan’s growing national aviation practice, expanding market reach, driving innovative civil, geotechnical and environmental solutions for airport projects, leading technical design work, client relationships and business development within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Requirements
- 15+ years progressive civil engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in at least one US state and ability to obtain in multiple states
- Design experience on FAA and airport authority projects with reputable client base
- Experience managing and leading staff on a wide range of aviation civil engineering projects
- Proven business development experience with a history of project wins
- Ability to hire, manage and motivate staff
- Experience leading all phases of aviation projects including conceptual planning, airport master plans, grant/financial knowledge, detailed design, bid support, construction engineering and closeout
- Knowledge of and experience applying FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction
- Experience preparing Airport Layout Plans and other FAA permitting
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office, FAArfield, AviPlan and related tools
- Strong leadership, mentorship and managerial skills for in‑person and remote teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license in good standing
