The Power BI Data Engineer is a remote, hands‑on role that blends data engineering and visualization to design robust data pipelines, data models and compelling dashboards, interacting directly with end users to translate business needs into actionable intelligence across the BI lifecycle.

Requirements
- 3+ years hands‑on experience with Power BI development (Desktop, Service and Report Server)
- Expert‑level proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M language)
- Strong SQL skills with experience in database design, query optimization and performance tuning
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling and ETL principles
- Experience with data visualization best practices and UI/UX design principles
- Proficiency in Azure data services (Azure SQL Database, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory or Fabric)
- Deep understanding of data modeling techniques and relationships (one‑to‑many, many‑to‑many, bi‑directional)
- Strong grasp of statistical concepts and analytical methodologies
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical data solutions
- Experience with data quality assessment and data profiling
- Proven ability to create executive‑level dashboards and reports
- Strong problem‑solving, hands‑on, solution‑oriented approach
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Detail‑oriented with commitment to code quality and documentation
- Demonstrated ability to use AI and automation in software engineering
- Preferred: CS or CIS bachelor’s degree
- Preferred: Microsoft certifications PL‑300, DP‑203 or DP‑500
- Preferred: Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics integration
- Preferred: Familiarity with Git/Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD pipelines
- Preferred: Knowledge of DAX Studio and other Power BI development tools
- Preferred: Experience with Power BI Embedded or custom API development
- Preferred: Understanding of data science concepts and predictive analytics
