About the role

The Payroll Specialist – Brazil joins Pebl’s Payroll Operations team to own the end‑to‑end payroll lifecycle for Brazil, resolve complex payroll issues, ensure compliance with local labor and tax laws, and support system and process improvements, acting as the subject‑matter expert and escalation point for Brazil payroll matters.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years hands‑on Brazilian payroll experience, preferably in a payroll service provider, multinational, accounting firm or BPO.
  • Proven experience managing end‑to‑end payroll operations in Brazil, including processing, validations, reconciliations, statutory filings and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian payroll and labor legislation (INSS, FGTS, IRRF, eSocial, férias, 13th salary, terminations, statutory deductions).
  • Understanding of gross‑to‑net calculations, taxable/non‑taxable earnings, deductions, benefits and statutory contributions.
  • Experience researching and resolving complex payroll discrepancies, retroactive adjustments, terminations and tax issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to interpret payroll data and identify root causes.
  • Experience supporting payroll implementations, process improvements, system changes and operational transitions.
  • Ability to identify automation and process‑optimization opportunities, including AI‑enabled solutions.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems and related technologies; quick learner of new platforms.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and stakeholder management skills in a remote environment.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and professional working proficiency in English.
  • High integrity, discretion, ownership and attention to detail handling confidential information.
