About the role
The Patient Access Specialist ensures timely patient access by verifying eligibility, obtaining insurance authorizations, assisting with Medicaid or Marketplace enrollment, updating the EHR, reconciling daily visits, and resolving registration or claim issues for individuals in crisis.

Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with patient registration in a multi‑specialty or hospital setting.
- At least 2 years of medical billing experience focusing on eligibility.
- Working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance products.
- State of Virginia fingerprint clearance.
- Ability to pass Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services background check.
- Ability to pass Virginia Department of Social Services Office of Background Investigations – Central Registry Search.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 per company policy or have an approved exemption.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field (preferred).
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
