About the role

The data scientist will focus on early‑life gut health, working closely with microbiome experts and reporting to the Head of Science to conduct data‑driven research, analyze complex microbiome and clinical datasets, and support scientific publications and product development.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in data science, computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, microbiology or related field (PhD preferred)
  • 3+ years full‑time relevant experience after Master’s, or 0‑1+ years after PhD
  • Strong background in statistics, machine learning, and data visualization
  • Proficient in R and/or Python; experience with SQL and large datasets preferred
  • Experience with microbiome data analysis (e.g., 16S, shotgun metagenomics) highly desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self‑motivated, organized, able to work independently in a remote‑first environment
  • Prior experience in a fast‑paced startup
  • Work experience in DTC health/wellness companies
  • Remote work experience with proficiency in Slack
  • Leverages AI in daily tasks while understanding its blind spots
  • Self‑directed, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity
