About the role

The Lead Data Engineer will provide technical leadership to the Product Team, designing and operationalizing next‑generation data and analytics platforms to make Lennar a data‑driven organization, while enabling self‑service, automation, and enterprise data‑fabric operationalization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture and enterprise modeling, including advanced warehousing, cloud data lakes, and multi‑layer designs.
  • Strong expertise in advanced data transformations, complex operational pipelines, data cleanup, and standardization.
  • Proven experience with production SDLC and workflow best practices, including code reviews, end‑to‑end testing, and resilient error handling.
  • Experience implementing data governance, security, and role‑based access controls.
  • 3–6+ years of advanced Python development for production‑grade data manipulation, automation, and API integration.
  • Hands‑on experience deploying and scaling containerized workloads on AWS ECS and ECR.
  • Proficiency with core AWS services: S3, IAM, Lambda, EC2, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
  • AWS certification is a strong plus.
  • Expertise with Snowflake, including account administration, virtual warehouse clustering, data sharing, Time Travel, and zero‑copy cloning.
  • Strong experience with dbt, managing multi‑repo projects, configuring dbt Cloud, and building advanced models and macros.
  • Daily use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude/OpenAI APIs.
  • Familiarity with cloud‑native AI services like Snowflake Cortex or AWS Bedrock and frameworks like LangChain or vector databases.
  • Experience with incremental loading, CDC methods, and integrating complex external REST APIs.
  • Advanced Git/GitHub branching strategies, pull‑request enforcement, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • 1+ year experience with orchestration tools such as Prefect or Airflow.
  • 1+ year experience with data replication tools like Qlik Replicate.
  • Product‑first mindset with ability to gather requirements from business users and translate them into technical assets.
  • Strong collaboration skills across software, DevOps, and data teams.
  • Demonstrated technical curiosity and ability to quickly master new technologies.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% to Lennar divisions.
