Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The Principal AWS Infrastructure Engineer will own the technical strategy and hands‑on execution of Opto’s AWS foundation, including EKS lifecycle management, multi‑account architecture, and data‑governance controls, while partnering with security, compliance and data teams to ensure audit‑ready, scalable infrastructure.

Requirements

• Deep Kubernetes/EKS experience with ability to own version upgrades independently
• Proficiency with Terraform/IaC at scale (Pulumi experience a plus)
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, including enterprise networking, containers, and multi‑AZ deployments
• Strong operational competence with Linux systems and shell scripting
• Experience with CI/CD and Git‑based workflows
• Experience with compliance and security posture, including SOC 2, access management (Okta/IAM), and audit readiness
• Ability to operate in a high‑trust, interrupt‑driven startup environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and cross‑functional collaboration experience
• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles; staff‑level or subject‑matter‑expert depth preferred
• Background as Platform Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, SRE, or DevOps Engineer
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
• Familiarity with Opto’s tech stack (React/Next.js TypeScript, Python and Java REST APIs, Snowflake, Datadog) (preferred)
• Experience in regulated industries such as fintech, wealth management, banking/payments, or healthcare (preferred)
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 (preferred)
