About the role
The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) will lead full lifecycle Assessment & Authorization (A&A) efforts for Department of Commerce systems, managing RMF‑based security assessments, risk oversight and documentation to achieve and maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) from the Herbert Hoover building location.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum five years experience as an IA Analyst, ISSE, ISSO or similar role in ATO package development, including generation of security documentation, STIG/IAVA compliance, SOPs and test results
- Experience with eMASS
- Professional security certification such as CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CompTIA Security+ CE, SSCP or higher
- Strong desktop publishing skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with industry writing styles, grammar and sentence structure
- Ability to multi‑task in a deadline‑oriented environment
- Preferred: CISSP, CASP or similar certification
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field
- Preferred: Strong initiative, detail orientation, organizational and analytical thinking skills
- Preferred: Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Preferred: Excellent work ethic and high commitment to quality
