About the role

The Hardware Integration Engineer will work with the hardware team to build, test, maintain and improve the utilization of the autonomous vehicle fleet, serving as the lead technical reference. The role involves deploying autonomy technology to mining customers, collaborating with engineers in Sunnyvale and on‑site with customers, and interacting with hardware engineers, technicians, operators and safety drivers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical, electrical or related field.
  • 5+ years technical experience in mechanical, electrical, computer, mining or construction industry.
  • Experience working with AV components such as LiDARs, radars, cameras.
  • Previous experience with low‑volume manufacturing in the off‑road industry.
  • Proven ability to read and understand electrical schematics and datasheets.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining detailed assembly procedures.
  • Experience using shop equipment, 3D printers, and automotive diagnostic tools.
  • CNC, machining, metalworking and welding experience.
  • Experience with automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with CAD (or SolidWorks) design process (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Python or other programming languages (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with ROS and Linux OS (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with programming microcontrollers/microprocessors (nice to have).
