Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

The Forward Deployed Engineer sits at the intersection of engineering, product and customer success, owning end‑to‑end technical integrations for brokerage customers and later leading special‑project delivery. Partnering with a Deployment Strategist, the role blends solutions engineering, product specialization and technical consulting, building prototypes, configuring the core platform and acting as a trusted advisor to customers.

Requirements

• 1–6 years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, or technical consulting
• Comfortable standing up simple applications in a modern cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) using serverless functions, containers or basic web frameworks
• Experience building and debugging data pipelines using SQL, Python or Java and lightweight ETL workflows
• Fluency with APIs and integration logic, including OAuth or key‑based authentication, REST design, and tools such as Postman or curl
• Proficiency with LLM tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate development
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, think critically and ship hands‑on solutions
• Strong communication skills for customer‑facing technical work
• Willingness to work in the San Francisco office
• Insurance or financial‑services experience is a plus
