Forward Deployed Engineer

The Forward Deployed Software Engineer works directly with utility and government partners to integrate Promise’s payment and relief products, solve real‑world technical challenges on‑site, and feed product improvements back to engineering, driving measurable impact for vulnerable households.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building and deploying production software in fast‑learning, adaptable environments
• Experience in a customer‑facing technical role, balancing empathy with technical rigor
• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, ETL tools, SQL and React, or a willingness to quickly learn them
• Demonstrated curiosity, grit and self‑start problem‑solving with clear documentation
• Strong collaboration skills across engineering, design, product, delivery and sales functions
• Must be a U.S. person (citizen or permanent resident) and reside in the United States
