Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) on the Applied AI team embeds with strategic enterprise customers to design, ship and support production‑grade AI applications built on Anthropic’s Claude models. The role blends deep technical expertise, advanced prompt and agent engineering, and customer‑facing skills to drive adoption, create new solutions, and act as a champion of Anthropic’s mission, often travelling to client sites and operating with high autonomy.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in a technical, customer‑facing role (e.g., Forward Deployed Engineer, consulting software engineer) or former technical founder
• Native French speaker with fluent English proficiency
• Production experience with LLMs, including advanced prompt engineering, agent development, evaluation frameworks and large‑scale deployment
• Strong programming skills in Python and preferably additional languages such as TypeScript or Java, with a track record of shipping production applications
• High agency and ability to navigate ambiguity in complex organisations
• Collaboration mindset for cross‑organizational work, balancing competing priorities with integrity
• Passion for safe, beneficial AI and creative technical applications
• Excellent communication skills for discovery discussions and translating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant field
• Background in financial services, healthcare/life‑sciences, or other enterprise verticals is a plus
• Experience with enterprise IT systems and AI deployment patterns is a plus
