About the role

The Solar – Chief Professional Engineer will lead design and engineering for commercial, industrial and utility‑scale solar photovoltaic projects (including energy‑storage, repowering, EV‑charging and telecom applications), collaborating with civil, structural and electrical teams and interfacing with clients to deliver innovative design solutions from concept through construction.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience as a Professional Engineer designing solar arrays
  • Demonstrated experience with design and construction of distributed generation, commercial and utility‑scale solar PV projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, drafting, electrical line drawings and interpretation of technical specifications and construction documents
  • Proficiency with solar design tools and solid understanding of photovoltaic systems
  • Knowledge of NEC and other building codes
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects in a fast‑paced environment with a sense of urgency
  • Entrepreneurial, problem‑solving mindset and ability to make sound decisions under changing conditions
  • Goal‑oriented, self‑directed, able to work with limited supervision and meet schedules
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; confident in delivering polished customer presentations
  • Experience supervising work in remote locations
  • Active Professional Engineer license – minimum Florida and California, with ability to obtain licensure in all 50 states
  • NABCEP certification is a plus
  • Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) design experience preferred
