About the role
The Director of Advanced Capabilities will lead Anduril’s Maritime team in defining how autonomous maritime systems support modern naval warfare, bridging engineering and operational domains, shaping concepts of operations, conducting threat studies, and scaling a global analyst team.

Requirements
- Proven exceptional leadership and gravitas, able to communicate complex concepts to audiences from software engineers to 4‑star admirals.
- 10+ years of experience in defense strategy, operational planning, operational analysis, systems engineering or related technical fields.
- Strong technical literacy in analysis, modeling and simulation (M&S) tools or operational‑research methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of joint and naval warfare, the maritime domain and the defense acquisition lifecycle.
- Experience building or leading modeling, simulation and wargaming capabilities and defending methodology to engineering and senior operational audiences.
- Deep understanding of autonomous and collaboratively autonomous systems, manned‑unmanned teaming and cross‑domain joint effects, with ability to translate advantages into warfighting concepts.
- Degree or postgraduate degree in Operations Research and Statistics.
- Current active U.S. Top Secret security clearance and ability to maintain it.
- Preferred: Prior military service or active‑duty operational background with tactical planning or maritime defense experience.
- Preferred: Direct maritime domain expertise, including undersea warfare, ASW, ASuW, MCM, MDA or related missions.
- Preferred: Experience with software development, systems engineering or digital‑engineering tools to support analytical tool development and product design.
