About the role
The Director, Actuarial Services leads the creation, implementation and oversight of actuarial models and financial frameworks that support Thyme Care’s value‑based care partnerships, handling reserving, forecasting, contract reconciliations and performance analytics while collaborating with the C‑suite and cross‑functional teams to guide strategic financial decisions.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, Economics, Math or related quantitative field
- ASA or FSA credential from the Society of Actuaries
- Minimum 8 years actuarial experience in health care or medical economics
- At least 2 years experience mentoring junior staff
- Understanding of Medicare Advantage health plan data (Claims, MMR, MAO‑04, etc.)
- Proficiency in SQL or another coding language for extracting and transforming large healthcare claims data
- Ability to write clean, efficient code and maintain strong data management practices
- Experience collaborating across organizations and building rapport with data teams and downstream consumers
- 3+ years experience in value‑based care arrangements and contracting, focusing on reserving and forecasting for shared‑savings, shared‑risk, or global capitation programs (preferred)
- Strong communication skills with ability to present insights to executive or external audiences (preferred)
- Deep knowledge of financial and clinical healthcare metrics and industry standards for data presentation (preferred)
- Experience developing financial models or forecasts in Excel to evaluate cost‑of‑care impact of clinical interventions (preferred)
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI (preferred)
- Understanding of pharmacy benefits and/or Medicare Part D (preferred)
