About the role

The Desktop/Workstation Design Engineer in the IT department leads architecture discussions, system reviews and roadmap planning for desktop integration, acting as the subject‑matter expert for Windows OS imaging, large‑scale software deployment and security hardening.

Requirements

  • Experience integrating and upgrading desktops/laptops from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and upgrading Microsoft and third‑party applications, including litigating software such as Ipro and Concordance
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Experience engineering a Windows 10 image on an Intel‑based system integrated with Microsoft Exchange 2013, Office 2013 and various third‑party applications
  • Windows OS engineering experience
  • Understanding of applying security controls to OS images
  • Microsoft Office engineering experience
  • Integrating anti‑virus applications into an image
  • VPN/Remote access knowledge (Cisco Secure Access with RSA a plus)
  • Strong Windows scripting experience (PowerShell, VBScript)
  • Good technical writing skills
  • VB and/or VBA coding experience (preferred)
  • VDI/Citrix experience (preferred)
  • SMS/SCCM experience (preferred)
  • Understanding of PKI (preferred)
  • VMware experience (preferred)
