About the role
The Design and Release Engineer for Brake Controls Hardware will design, package, and release brake control modules and related components, manage CAD/BOM structures, ensure system performance, cost, and quality, and handle FMVSS compliance across multiple vehicle lines, working from Livonia, MI in a hybrid setting.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- 4 years of design or development experience in chassis or powertrain controls
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline (preferred)
- Experience with FMEA and Failure Mode Avoidance processes (preferred)
- Familiarity with vehicle network communication (CAN) (preferred)
- Self‑starter with ability to learn new tools, troubleshoot and fix vehicle problems
- Outstanding leadership and communication skills
- Experience in supplier management and cost negotiation
- Motivation to bring new technologies from concept to production quickly
- Familiarity with TeamCenter / 3DX CAD systems (preferred)
- Experience with complex system analysis tools and methods
- Experience with problem‑solving methods
- Experience with software and electrical interfaces
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available
