About the role

The Database Administrator IV is responsible for ensuring performance, security, availability, and scalability of Modivcare’s enterprise database platforms, supporting healthcare operations, business applications, analytics, and emerging AI capabilities, while collaborating with developers, data engineers, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Seven or more years of experience administering enterprise database environments
  • Professional database certifications (e.g., IBM Db2, MongoDB, AWS Certified Database – Specialty, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL) preferred
  • Experience administering enterprise database platforms including IBM Db2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and other relational and NoSQL technologies
  • Strong SQL programming skills and expertise in database architecture, physical and logical design, indexing, partitioning, query optimization, execution plans, and performance tuning
  • Strong understanding of backup and recovery, replication, clustering, high availability, disaster recovery, resilience, and business continuity planning
  • Experience implementing enterprise database security including RBAC, authentication, authorization, encryption, auditing, least‑privilege access, dynamic data masking, row‑ and column‑level security, and PHI protection
  • Experience supporting Windows and Linux server environments
  • Experience administering AWS database services including Amazon RDS, Aurora, and Redshift
  • Strong understanding of relational database architecture, lifecycle management, and operational best practices
  • Ability to optimize database performance within high‑volume transactional and analytical environments
  • Experience with database monitoring, administration, automation, and performance management tools
  • Experience supporting database migration, modernization, data warehousing, ETL processes, or business intelligence solutions preferred
  • Experience developing automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting technologies preferred
  • Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines preferred
  • Familiarity with healthcare, financial services, or other highly regulated industries preferred
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while responding effectively to production incidents in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity, security, compliance, and operational excellence
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross‑functional technical and business teams
  • Ability to leverage AI‑enabled tools responsibly to improve productivity, automate routine tasks, and support continuous improvement while adhering to organizational policies and data security requirements
