Data Engineer

About the role

The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data pipelines that move and transform data across AWS and Google Cloud Platform environments, focusing on PostgreSQL/Cloud SQL, data masking, and delivering clean data to BigQuery for analytics. The remote, full‑time position works with data analysts, architects, and security/compliance teams to ensure data governance.

Requirements

• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform data services: Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Composer/Airflow, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Datastream
• Strong PostgreSQL experience including schema design, query optimization, and administration
• Experience with Cloud DLP or equivalent data masking/anonymization tools
• Experience working with AWS services, particularly Kinesis Data Firehose, and cross‑cloud data movement between AWS and GCS
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT design patterns, batch and streaming data processing
• Proficiency in Python and/or SQL for pipeline development
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance practices such as PII handling and masking
• At least a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• Nice to have: Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools for provisioning GCP resources
• Nice to have: Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows
• Nice to have: Background in SAP data extraction/integration
