About the role
The German‑speaking Data Architect will join Aliz’s data engineering team in Budapest, acting as a client‑facing technical leader who runs workshops, defines data platform roadmaps, designs and builds data pipelines and warehouses on GCP, and mentors both Aliz and client engineers while spending occasional onsite days in Germany.

Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands‑on coding experience with Java, Python and SQL
- Experience with modern public cloud data platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure) covering data warehousing, pipeline orchestration, streaming/batch processing, and BI/transformation tools such as BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, Looker or Tableau
- Fluent communication skills in English and German (mandatory for client‑facing tasks)
- Background in an IT service, consultancy or other client‑facing role
- Hands‑on, up‑to‑date knowledge of using agentic AI tools to build software solutions
- Ability to provide technical leadership and guide engineers on cloud journeys
- Comfortable working collaboratively and taking a lead role in agile practices
- Willingness to be onsite with the customer in Germany approximately three days per month
