AI Software Engineer

About the role

The AI Software Engineer will create novel computer‑vision models for video analysis of dogs and cats, combine ML research with full‑stack software engineering, build production‑ready diagnostic systems, write web servers, APIs and deploy/monitor models in the cloud, working remotely within a high‑growth, mission‑driven team.

It has appeared on the Inc. 5000 every year since 2018 and is building AI tools to diagnose untreated health conditions in pets.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience developing and deploying computer‑vision models
• Strong understanding of video‑processing deep‑learning architectures (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, ViTs)
• Proficiency in PyTorch
• Experience with backend development in Go, Java, Rust or other strongly‑typed languages
• Working knowledge of web server technologies and RESTful API design
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and containerization
• Ability to read and implement cutting‑edge research models
• Preferred: ability to contribute to backend, DevOps and React/Typescript
• Preferred: experience with Go
• Preferred: MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Math or related field
• Preferred: passion for dogs and other furry friends
